Youth – Hurling

In 1973, a journey began as Tommy Harrell founded the Father Murphy’s Underage section alongside Phil Roche, creating a haven for talented young Gaelic football players. The legacy of their vision continues to inspire us today. Fast forward to 2017, Martin Harrell breathed new life into Father Murphy’s Youth Hurling Team.

Recognizing the dwindling presence of this magnificent sport in London and fuelled by a passion to reignite its flame, the club embarked on a mission to introduce a new generation of children to the exhilarating world of hurling. From humble beginnings, we have grown into an extraordinary community.

With squads at under 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and under 17 we field competitive sides at every age group. Since 2017, we have fielded at every competitive age in the All Britain Championships Hurling Competition and we are once again set to make our mark.

We are delighted to see these young sports stars transition to the senior teams as our player pathway guides the aspiring young hurlers towards the senior ranks. The Youth team and senior team worked closely to field and play at the GAA World Games in Hurling as part of player pathway and part of the process ensuring the future of the club bringing London born hurlers to the senior ranks

If you’d like your child to get involved we’d invite you to join our vibrant and fun community and experience the thrill of hurling, where passion meets excellence and dreams soar to new heights.
