Camogie

Our Camogie team was founded in 1998 under the guidance of Darren Howlin, and proudly embodies the distinctive purple and gold Wexford colours while welcoming players from all over.

Despite being a relatively young team, we have experienced remarkable success, securing numerous Junior Championships before making our breakthrough in 2007 with a thrilling victory over Bros Pearse. In 2008, we triumphed against Croydon in the final, followed by a historic win against Donard the Glen of Wicklow, becoming the first British club to claim victory in an Irish championship game. Unluckily we fell short against Shinrone of Offaly in the All Ireland Semi-final but our resilience and skill were undeniable.

Recently we saw the assembly of a strong team, despite limited matches due to the pandemic, and in 2022, our girls poured their hearts into the championship where they won a hard-fought season and ultimately clinched the all-Britain final against our London rivals Tara in an enthralling encounter that required extra time. Luck was against us in our all-Ireland semi-final, but despite a flight delay hampering our girls preparation and the first time playing on an astroturf pitch, the team fought valiantly in against Lacken from Cavan unfortunately losing out, but gaining invaluable experience.

Looking back on a fine few years we are determination as even to reach new heights in the All-Britain intermediate championship. We warmly welcome new players of all abilities to join our ranks.

Come and be part of our spirited community, where camaraderie and passion for the game flourish.
